I am not a fan of the lower difficulties, I believe that choosing to follow the bass leads to very unintuitive rhythms especially for beginners, and it is not very immediately apparent what the notes are placed to in contrast to the more catchy melody which beginners are more likely to pay attention to while playing. I might recommend for a next set using a melody kick drum mix for layering.
